Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health authorities during a search of a home in .

A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medications by means of the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be unsafe.

"These kinds of products being offered, usually online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no assurance about their safety.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not know the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
